Youth Volunteering
Below are a few examples of the kind of things you can get involved in:
- First Aider
- Coffee Club Helper
- Tour Guide
- Activities Helper
- Retail Assistant
In the last year
we have developed and completed a number of youth projects including:
Getting Youth Involved
The project looked at volunteering as a positive activity as opposed to anti
social behaviour. The group have designed a range of promotional material to
promote and support youth volunteering. Look out for some of our leaflets and
posters in and around East Dunbartonshire.
BIG Lottery Young People’s
Panel
This group of enthusiastic and committed young people undertook a whole range
of training and research into youth activities in East Dunbartonshire before they embarked
on their work within the Panel. The Panel members were asked to consider and
make recommendations on funding applications made to the BIG Lottery’s Young People’s Fund. Although the project is now in its final stages the young people are keen to further develop their volunteering
in East Dunbartonshire.
Roars not Whispers
This is our new project for young people between 16 – 25 years and who want to work with other young people to make a difference.
You making change happen – about things that matter to you
You speaking out – and being heard!
You, together with others, making change a reality
If you want to make change happen and get other people hearing about things that
matter to you, we will give you the info, skills, tools, networks and links to turn your voice into action.
MV Awards
Are you already volunteering? If so, why not get in touch
with us and we can help you achieve your MV Awards. This is a great way to gain
recognition for your volunteering and the Award of Excellence is signed by the First Minister.
